For more than a decade, Jonathan Tromsness made a living playing bass in other people’s bands.

Somewhere along the way, he started writing songs of his own.

What began as a side project with no particular destination slowly became harder to ignore. After studying Jazz at Capilano University and writing music for television commercials, Jonathan found himself with an increasingly inconvenient realization: he actually knew how to turn the strange little things happening in his head into records.

So he started making them.

Pulling from a somewhat dysfunctional family tree of influences—David Bowie, Radiohead, Talking Heads, Beck, and whatever else happened to wander into the room—Jonathan began assembling musicians, sounds, and ideas into something that didn’t quite fit anywhere else.

The bass player finally got to write the rules.
